HISTORICAL WORK

2004
What Started as a hobby by Yudaya Babairye to encourage students from poor backgrounds at Makerere university later evolved in full institution.

2009
Yudaya’s Husband encouraged her to translate her ambition onto a full organized institution and together pooled resources in “Harambee style” of sorts and started a rural and urban youth mentorship program.

2010
300 Youths trained and Couple agrees to develop their action into full institution (Non-profit).

2003
700 youth register for Harambee and the Outreach produces amazing results.

2015
1500 reached and Harambee Youth Mentorship and Health Advocacy is registered as a non-profit organization.

2017
A youth Board of Board of Directors is appointed to run the organization and provide policy making based grassroots knowledge by the youth themselves.

2018
3000 youths reached with both soft and hard skills. Uganda being the largest host of refugees from South Sudan, Somalia, DRC –Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Harambee opens doors to regional and global reach. Harambee Youth Go Clubs start to open up in all the east Africa countries including DRC.
